In 1992, the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania passed Act Number 1992-137. This Act enables the County to charge an increased fee for recording deeds and mortgages to be utilized for affordable housing activities. In Fayette County, local Act 137 funds have been utilized to leverage other state and federal funding in support of the Homeowner Rehabilitation and Homebuyer Assistance Programs.
