DCNR administers several programs which provide assistance to municipalities for recreation planning and improvement projects. This assistance helps meet the recreational needs of our communities, preserve open spaces and natural areas, enhance the state's river resources, and support the development of rail trails. DCNR also provides technical assistance to assist communities in accomplishing their goals. Locally, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds have been utilized by many municipalities to provide matching funds for DCNR projects.
