The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Fayette (RACF) is the principle agency in Fayette County responsible for community development and single-family affordable housing activities. Established in 1949, the Authority provides general community development services and administers several programs on behalf of the County and its municipalities. Programs administered by
the Authority include:
- Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program
- Homeowner Rehabilitation Program
- Homeownership Assistance Program
- Weatherization Program
In addition to the programs listed above, the Authority also routinely administers special project-specific grants and activities on behalf of various municipalities and organizations throughout the County. Recent project-specific grants and special initiatives undertaken by the Authority include:
- Development of the Fayette County Business Park located along Route 40 and New Salem Road
- The Springer Farm Redevelopment Initiative
- Redevelopment Assistance Capital Project (RACP) Grant for the Fallingwater Restoration Project
- RACP Grant for Fort Necessity / National Road Interpretive and Education Center
During a typical program year, the Authority will administer over
$5 million from a variety of local, state, and federal funding sources to implement a multitude of community development projects throughout Fayette County. This amount will also be utilized to leverage an additional
$5 million from other public and private funding sources.
