The Authority also utilizes funding provided through the Commonwealth's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families to complement the County's Homeowner Rehabilitation Program.  Originating from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), TANF funds then flow through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.  More specifically, TANF funding is utilized by the Redevelopment Authority to rehabilitate homes of families which contain children under the age of 18.
