Originating from the same grant application which funded improvements to the Flatiron Building, the Authority administered the RACP grant which restored the Addison Tollhouse in Somerset County and the Searights Tollhouse in Fayette County. With each Tollhouse, the Authority coordinated activities with the State Historic Museum Commission, Department of Community and Economic Development, and various local and regional organizations. In addition to general grant administration, Authority staff were also responsible for direct implementation of each project, handling project contracting and inspection activities. Improvements made to each tollhouse, included, installation of new roofing systems, exterior siding and interior wall improvements, interior and exterior painting, installation of new heating and ventilation systems, and accessibility improvements. At the Searights Tollhouse, exterior restroom facilities were also constructed.
